Short answer: National Minitex is a water-based copolymer texture with quartz aggregate that gives a light, matt texture on interior and exterior concrete, plaster, masonry, blockwork, gypsum and wood. Prime with PVA Primer Sealer, Acrylic Primer (W.B.) or Tex Primer, then apply one coat by brush, roller or spray. It covers about 3 m² per litre, recoats in 6 to 8 hours at 30°C, and can take Nationalthane, National Polyurethane or Acrylic Rock on top after 24 hours.

Step 1: prepare the wall
- Clean, dry and sound. National’s surface preparation guide gives high-pressure water at 2200 psi minimum for exteriors.
- Remove laitance, efflorescence, oil and loose material.
- Fill cracks with Joint Filler. A light texture hides less than a heavy one, so fix defects properly.
Step 2: the system
- Primer, one coat: PVA Primer Sealer, Acrylic Primer (W.B.) or Tex Primer.
- Minitex, one coat (National’s systems specifier lists two coats for Mini Tex light texture).
- Optional topcoat after 24 hours: Nationalthane, National Polyurethane or Acrylic Rock.
What the numbers mean
Coverage = volume solids × 10 ÷ dry film: 620 ÷ 200 = 3.1 m² per litre, the sheet’s “about 3”. Wet film = 200 ÷ 0.62 ≈ 323 microns, matching its 320. At SG 1.72, Minitex is heavy: 18 litres weighs about 31 kg.
How much to buy
| Wall area | 1 coat | 2 coats (specifier) |
|---|---|---|
| 50 m² | about 17 L | about 33 L |
| 150 m² | about 50 L | about 100 L |
| 400 m² (villa) | about 133 L | about 267 L |
Frequently asked questions
Does Minitex need a topcoat?
The data sheet lists a topcoat as optional. A PU or Acrylic Rock topcoat changes the sheen and adds a protective layer; ask us which suits the façade.
Can I spray it?
Yes: brush, roller or spray are all listed.
