Terraco EIFS Polar is Terraco’s exterior insulation and finish system using extruded polystyrene (XPS) boards. Terraco positions it for hot, humid countries where buildings are air-conditioned inside, which describes most of the UAE. Al Tashteb Al Saree is an authorised Terraco distributor and supplies EIFS Polar components direct from the manufacturer for projects in Sharjah, Dubai and across the UAE.
Why XPS
- Terraco says XPS’s low vapour permeability helps reduce condensation in hot, humid climates with indoor air conditioning.
- Enhanced mechanical properties make it suitable for high-traffic areas.
- Thinner sections can be used where needed, such as around windows and doors.
System components
- Terraco Styrofix: adhesive fixing the XPS board to the substrate.
- XPS insulation board: thickness to suit the required thermal performance.
- Mechanical fasteners: plastic fixings with plastic or steel pins.
- System profiles: for openings and sills.
- Terraco Styrobond DP basecoat: reinforced with Terramesh glass-fibre mesh.
- Terraco P Primer: substrate-penetrating primer.
- Decorative finish: such as Terracoat, optionally with a clear or pigmented topcoat.

Terraco’s Polar page does not make fire-rating claims. Insulated facades in the UAE must meet Civil Defence requirements; for projects needing a higher fire rating, see EIFS Perma (mineral wool). Also compare EIFS Alpha (EPS). The Terraco guarantee requires installation by an Approved Terraco EIFS Applicator.
