Short answer: National Tex Without Marble Chips (W.O.M.C.) is a water-based copolymer texture that National describes as water-repellent and flexible, with good alkali and weather resistance. It is rolled onto interior and exterior concrete, plaster, masonry, blockwork, gypsum and wood. It covers about 1 to 3.5 m² per litre depending on the texture, recoats in 6 to 8 hours at 30°C, and can be topcoated with National Polyurethane, Nationalthane or Acrylic topcoat after 24 hours.

Step 1: prepare the wall
- Clean, dry and sound; high-pressure wash exteriors at 2200 psi or more, per National’s surface preparation guide.
- Remove laitance, efflorescence, grease and dust.
- Fill cracks with Joint Filler.
Step 2: the system
- Primer, one coat: PVA Primer Sealer, Acrylic Primer (W.B.) or Tex Primer.
- Tex W.O.M.C.: one coat per the data sheet; National’s systems specifier lists two coats for a heavy texture.
- Optional topcoat after 24 hours: National Polyurethane, Nationalthane or Acrylic topcoat.
What the numbers mean
Coverage = 550 ÷ dry film: 550 ÷ 150 ≈ 3.7 and 550 ÷ 500 = 1.1 m² per litre, which explains the sheet’s wide 1 to 3.5 range. The heavier you roll the texture, the faster it goes.
How much to buy
| Wall area | Light texture (3.5 m²/L) | Heavy texture (1 m²/L) |
|---|---|---|
| 50 m² | about 14 L | about 50 L |
| 150 m² | about 43 L | about 150 L |
| 400 m² (villa) | about 114 L | about 400 L |
Frequently asked questions
Will it cover cracks?
National describes it as flexible, but fill cracks with Joint Filler first. Standard Tex‘s sheet specifically mentions covering minor cracks.
Can it be sprayed?
The sheet lists roller application. For a sprayed texture, see Nutex or Minitex.
