Short answer: National Acryl Emulsion I is a water-based vinyl-acrylic copolymer emulsion with a smooth matt finish, for interior concrete, plaster, masonry, blockwork, gypsum and wood. Prime with PVA Primer Sealer or PVA Primer White, apply two coats of Stucco Filler, then two coats of Acryl I. It covers about 7.5 to 9.5 m² per litre, recoats in 2 to 4 hours at 30°C and thins 10 to 15% with water.

Step 1: prepare the wall
- Clean, dry and sound; brush off dust and loose material.
- Remove laitance and efflorescence from new plaster and concrete, per National’s surface preparation guide.
- Fill cracks with Joint Filler.
Step 2: the system
- PVA Primer Sealer or PVA Primer White, one coat.
- Stucco Filler, two coats.
- Acryl Emulsion I, two coats, 2 to 4 hours apart.
What the numbers mean
Coverage = 380 ÷ 40 = 9.5 and 380 ÷ 50 = 7.6 m² per litre. Because Acryl I has 38% solids against Acryl II’s 42%, it takes roughly 10% more paint to reach the same dry film.
How much to buy

Frequently asked questions
Is it the same as Acrylic Super Emulsion?
No. Both are interior emulsions with the same coverage, but Acrylic Super is acrylic over Acrylic Primer; Acryl I is vinyl-acrylic over PVA primer. See National emulsions compared.
Can I use it outside?
The data sheet lists interior use. Use Acryl Emulsion II outside.
