Short answer: National Shield Tex Silk is a fine silk-finish texture in the Shield range. Prime with Acrylic Primer (W.B.), then roll or spray. It covers about 2.5 m² per litre at 200 microns dry and recoats in 4 to 6 hours at 30°C. Of the three Shield silks, it has the highest listed coverage at its standard build.

Step 1: prepare the wall
- Clean, dry and sound; pressure-wash exteriors at 2200 psi minimum, per National’s surface preparation guide.
- Remove laitance and efflorescence; acid-etch or roughen very smooth concrete.
- Repair cracks with Joint Filler.
Step 2: the system
- Primer, one coat: Acrylic Primer (W.B.).
- Shield Tex Silk, roller or spray, recoat after 4 to 6 hours if a second coat is needed.
What the numbers mean
Coverage = 49 × 10 ÷ 200 ≈ 2.45 m² per litre, matching the sheet’s 2.5. Wet film = 200 ÷ 0.49 ≈ 408 microns, matching its 400.
